Mesut Ozil has stated that he still believes Arsenal can qualify against Monaco in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners lost the first leg at home by a 3-1 scoreline and need to score at least three goals in Monaco to stand a chance of qualifying.

“We [Arsenal] will battle to the very end in the Premier League,” Mesut Ozil told the Turkish newspaper Fanatik

“We are also in the Champions League, it is not over, we can still qualify for the next round.”

Ozil was heavily criticised by pundits for his performance during the first leg. The Gunners playmaker has also been criticised for not working hard enough by sections of the press and media this season.

The World Cup winner has however, provided more assists since his return from injury than any other player in the Premier League and has also covered more distance than any other Arsenal player.
