Ozil's influence at Arsenal is like Dennis Bergkamp says Arsene Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has likened his star playmaker Mesut Ozil to a club legend Denis Bergkamp.

The experienced French manager hailed Ozil’s influence in dressing room and stated that he demands the best from his teammates.

“Yes, he’s a bit like Bergkamp, not that guy who stands up and speaks too much, but every time he says something, it is straight to the point,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.

“He has a big influence. He’s not an extrovert, as you know. But you don’t win by coincidence and he has won in his career. He’s demanding from his partners.”

Bergkamp won three Premier League titles during his time at Arsenal after joining from Inter in 1995.

Ozil is expected to make a return to Arsenal’s starting line-up after missing last weekends encounter with Stoke with a foot injury.

Ozil has already provided 16 assists in the Premier League this season and is just four assists away from matching Thierry Henry’s record tally of 20.

Arsenal are currently in second place behind Leicester City but will move back to the top of the table if they can record a victory over their London based rivals today.
