Germany international’s Lukas Podolski and Bastien Schweinsteiger should be preparing for the friendly against Euro 2016 hosts France but decided they would swap footballs for tennis balls and take on Roland Garros.
Galatasaray striker Podolski as well as Manchester United midfielder Schweinsteiger posed on the famous tennis courts – which was naturally shared on Instagram – and still have a few months yet if they want to try their luck in the French Open.
Podolski was one of two Turkish Super League players to get a call up to the national team the other being in form Beşiktaş striker Mario Gomez who already has nine goals to his name this season.
Meanwhile the former Arsenal man has been in impressive form for the Lions scoring seven goals in all competitions.
Germany boss Joachim Low has also called up two players of Turkish origin in Liverpool midfielder Emre Can and Borussia Dortmund star İlkay Gündoğan but Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil has been left out of the latest squad selection.
