Uefa has described Abdulkadir Omur as something of a cross between Lionel Messi and Gheorghe Hagi.
Trabzonspor signed him to their academy in 2011 after scouting him locally. The left-footed playmaker has wonderful technique, dribbling ability and pace which have resulted in him being compared – stylistically – to Messi.
He scored 41 goals at youth level for Trabzonspor and was promoted to the senior team over the summer of 2016, signing a three-year professional deal. Abdulkadir captained Turkey during their 2015 European Under-17 Championship qualification campaign and played a key role in lifting the Under-16s’ Aegean Cup.
However, Abdulkadir still needs to develop a little more physically before he is ready for top-flight football.
