The Gunners sit in third place with 70 points in 35 games. The North London based club are two points above Manchester United and have a game in hand.
Arsenal’s surprise defeat at the hands of Swansea earlier this week has given Louis van Gaal’s side a slim hope of automatic qualification for the Champions League group stages next season.
Speaking to dfb.de, Özil said, “Playing against Man Utd in the Premier League is always special.
“We will look to put on a brave performance, as we did back in March in the FA Cup encounter.
“If we do that, we have all chances to secure a direct Champions League qualifying spot.”
Özil has covered more distance, scored more goals, provided more assists and improved his sprinting since returning from injury at the start of 2015 according to the official Premier League website.
The 26-year-old has nine assists and five goals in 28 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.
