Prandelli dismisses Sneijder transfer rumours

Galatasaray manager Cesare Prandelli has dismissed reports linking Wesley Sneijder with a move away from the club in January.

The former Real Madrid midfielder was reported to be unhappy with his situation at the club regarding late payment of wages and that he was left out of the starting XI against Kasimpasa.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Galatasaray’s clash with Trabzonspor Prandelli said, “The rumours linking Sneijder with a move away from the club are false.

“Sneijder is an important player for us. Due to his profile the transfer speculation is to be expected.

“I have spoken with him and he has told me the stories are not true.”

The Netherlands international has been linked with Manchester United, FC Tokyo, Juventus and Toronto FC in recent weeks.

Galatasaray host Trabzonspor at the Turk Telekom Arena on Saturday at 17:00 GMT.

Sneijder has scored three goals in 12 games for Galatasaray this season.
