Bursa Atatürk Stadium
Prediction: Over 2.5 @ 1.90
Bursaspor defeated Eskişehirspor in their third back to back match. Bursaspor came out on top in this evenings 5 goal thriller thanks to a brilliant 73rd minute free kick by Pablo Batalla.
Manager Ertuğrul Sağlam sprung a surprise by selecting Batalla and Pinto in his starting lineup. The duo linked up well throughout the game creating the Green Crocodiles three goals. Pinto opened the scoring in the 43rd minute and then set up Batalla two minutes later. The powerful Chilean striker has been in brilliant form, scoring 13 goals in 18 games.
The Green Crocodiles have the makings of a team which could go on and mount a serious challenge to break into the top 4 next season. Even with a mainly rotation squad Bursaspor have enough depth to still play at a high level. 20 year old Ismail Haktan Odabaşı and 19 year old Musa Çağıran are exciting prospects improving with each game.
In case your wondering why Sağlam is giving academy and rotation players a chance its because they have practically guaranteed a Europa League position. Fenerbahce, their opponents in the Turkish cup final baring an absolute meltdown are almost certain to take one of the Champions League spots which would automatically give the cup's Europa League space to the Green Crocs.
Sivasspor failed to get revenge over IBB. Once again they will be wondering how they managed to blow this one, especially considering they created most of the chances and controlled the majority in the game. Grosicki was once again in splendid form down the wing and linked up well with Eneramo who caused problems upfront. However, defensive wise its another story, the Yigido's have been leaking in goals, having conceded six in two games.
Bursaspor have the home advantage and are yet to lose in the Bursa Atatürk Stadium however, with Sağlam's squad selection its essentially a new team playing each game. Sivasspor are desperate for the win and this match definitely means a lot more to them however, with their defensive frailties the Green Crocs could easily exploit any space given at the back. The most likely outcome of this game is Over 2.5 goals, for both sides three out of their last four playoff games have gone over and I expect this trend to continue on Sunday.
