Raul Meireles’ wonder goal not enough to prevent Fenerbahce loss [divider]
Fenerbahçe midfielder Raul Meireles scored a wonder goal on 41 minutes but it was not enough to prevent the Yellow Canaries losing 2-1 against Akhisar.

The loss was the Istanbul giants first home defeat in 33 league games.
Meireles revealed that he was disappointed with the loss but underlined that Fenerbahçe are very much in the title race.
“Obviously we wanted to win and we had plenty of chances to do so but we are still in the title race and have to keep our heads held high,” Meireles told Lig Tv.
The Portuguese international now has two goals and three assists in all competitions for the Canaries this season.
Fenerbahçe missed out on the opportunity to end the week as Süper Lig leaders.
The Canaries would have overtaken league leaders Galatasaray had they beat Akhisar but the loss saw them remain in third place.
There are currently only two points separating the top three in the Süper Lig.
Fenerbahçe will take on Konyaspor at the Torku Konya stadium.
