The statement read: “Royston Drenthe has signed on a 2.5 year deal, we wish him the best of luck at his new club.”

The 27-year-old made 24 appearances for Reading following his transfer from Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz in 2013.

The Dutch winger spent the first half of this season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, playing 15 times for the Owls.

Reading boss Steve Clarke revealed that he was disappointed that Drenthe failed to settle in but wished him all the best in the future.

“Royston is without doubt a talented player but sometimes transfers don’t deliver what they promise,” Clarke told BBC.

“That’s been the case for Royston at Reading so it’s best for both parties that he moves on and we wish him well for the future.”

The 27-year-old later joined Everton but has played Championship football for the last season at Reading and on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

Drenthe had a total of two goals and one assist in 24 appearances for Reading since joining last summer.

Erciyesspor are currently in 15th place on 14 points are currently managed by Mehmet Özdilek.
