Akhisar manager Roberto Carlos believes that he will guide his side to the Champions League.

“I came here to get us into the Europa League, then our next goal is to make it to the Champions League,” Carlos told Turkish-football.com reporters after the 2-0 loss against Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup.

“I did not come here with the main objective being league survival, I came here to start something big, I promise you we will become a side that competes with Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş.”

Akhisar are currently in 12th place on 19 points after 18 games. The Akigolar are 12 points off a Europa League place.

The Akigolar recently signed West Ham forward Ricardo Vaz Te until the end of the season and Braga midfielder Custodio Miguel Dias De Castro on a 1.5 year deal last week.

Carlos’ side have also transferred Orhan Taşdelen, Pekin Köşnek and Zeki Ayvaz over the course of the January transfer window.

Akhisar appointed Carlos as manager on a one and a half year deal after parting ways with Mustafa Akçay.
