Akhisar manager Roberto Carlos has been linked with Fenerbahçe according to NTV Spor.
Fenerbahçe boss Ismail Kartal is expected to resign from his position at the end of the season after failing to win the league title.
Carlos was quoted as saying: “I want to thank Akhisar everybody here treated me well and I wish them the best for next season.”
Carlos’ latest comments hint that he could be leaving the Akigolar at the end of the season.
The former Real Madrid star has stated in the past that he would like to return to Fenerbahçe.
“If Fenerbahçe do not win the league there is going to be change, I have a few offers on the table, lets see what happens at the end of the season, I got Sivasspor into fourth place and want to finish the league as strong as possible with Akhisar,” Carlos recently told Eurosport TR.
Carlos was appointed manager of the Akigolar in December and led his side out of relegation trouble to league safety.
The 42-year-old has experience both playing and coaching in Turkey. Carlos played for Fenerbahçe as a player and won the Super Cup twice with the Yellow Canaries.
The World Cup winner also has experience coaching at fellow Süper Lig outfit Sivasspor.
