Rudi Garcia impressed with Roma youngster

Roma manager Rudi Garcia revealed that he has been impressed with Salih Uçan over the pre-season period.

Garcia was quoted by Eurosport Turkey as saying: “Salih Uçan has developed a lot, he is a far better player now than he was when he joined and has caught up physically. He is starting to grow in confidence and will add a lot of valuee to the team in the future.”

Uçan started in the Serie A giants 2-0 loss against Sporting Lisbon today and has featured heavily in friendly games this summer.

The Turkish international struggled for playing time last season after picking up a succession of injuries and finding it difficult to adapt to the Italian game.

The 21-year-old is expected to get more playing time this season after recovering from his recurring injury problem.

The Serie A outfit finished the last season as runners up and booked a place in the Champions League group stages.

Uçan is currently on a two-year loan at AS Roma from Fenerbahçe and the Serie A outfit have a clause to make the deal permanent at the end of the current agreement.
