Schalke defender Kaan Ayhan celebrates birthday at Turkish national team camp [divider]
Schalke defender Kaan Ayhan celebrated his 20th birthday at the Turkish national team camp.
Ayhan was called up to the senior team for the second time by Terim and will be included in the squad to play Brazil and Kazakhstan.
The young defender celebrated with his teammates and a cake was cut on his behalf.
Ayhan become a regular first team player under Keller and will be hoping to remain in the first team following the appointment of Di Matteo.
The 20-year-old last started for Schalke on 25 October in the 1-0 loss against Bayer Leverkusen.
Ayhan was called up to the Turkish national team in the last round of Euro 2016 qualifiers but was not able to play against Czech Republic and Estonia due to an injury to a tendon in his toe.
The young defender has made 26 appearances for Schalke including starts in the Champions League despite being his young age.
