Sergen Yalçın has been appointed the new manager of Sivasspor replacing Roberto Carlos.

Carlos resigned as Sivasspor manager following his sides 2-0 defeat at home against Istanbul Başakşehir.

The Yiğidolar also suffered a humiliating defeat  at the hands of PTT 3. Lig outfit Tuzlaspor in the Turkish Cup during the week.

Sivasspor are currently 17th in the Süper Lig on 10 points after 14 weeks.

Yalçın is a former Turkish international with limited coaching experience. The former Beşiktaş star managed Gaziantepspor for a brief spell last season.

Sivasspor are expected to release an official statement confirming the appointment of Yalçın over the next few days.

Yalçın is likely to be unveiled in a signing ceremony next week and sign a two-year deal.
