Sivasspor manager Sergen Yalçın revealed that he was delighted to get off to a winning start following the 4-0 win over Gaziantep BB.
“Of course it is always great to get off to a winning start,” Yalçın said.
“The players took the game very serious and I am proud of their performance.
“We need to keep winning and playing at this level, this scoreline will have served a motivational boost to a lot of my players.”
Yalçın also revealed that he wants to take Sivasspor as far as he can in the Turkish Cup.
“We want to go as far as we can in the Turkish Cup,” Yalçın said.
“But we are more concerned about our league position right now, we have no margin for error and have to take the league more seriously.
“Our priority right now is improving our position in the league but of course we value the cup as well.
“We want to win regardless of the competition.”
