Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic has revealed that he is concerned with his sides record in the league following European games ahead of the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe.
“We have struggled in league games after a European match, we lost against Fenerbahçe in the first half of the season after a European game,” Bilic was quoted as saying by Eurosport TR.
Beşiktaş were knocked out of the Europa League Last 16 on Thursday 5-2 on aggregate by Club Brugge.
The Eagles were beaten 3-1 at the Atatürk Olympic stadium by Club Brugge.
The Croatian manager did however, underline that his side are strong enough to win the derby.
“Fenerbahçe have quality players but we have great team spirit and we are strong enough to win the game and stay in first place,” he added.
Beşiktaş are currently second in the Süper Lig one point behind league leaders Galatasaray but the Black Eagles do have a game in hand.
The Eagles will move two points clear of Galatasaray and seven points clear of Fenerbahçe with a win over the Yellow Canaries.
