Slaven Bilic – ‘Derby games are always heated, let us not exaggerate’ [divider]
Slaven Bilic has revealed that he has put the Fenerbahçe – Beşiktaş derby behind him.
The Croatian manager underlined that derbies are always heated and there is no need to exaggerate what happened.
“Everything has been left in the past, it is a big derby, these games can get heated there is nothing strange about that,” Bilic was quoted as saying by Eurosport TR.
“Let us not exaggerate what happened, it is time to move on.”
Bilic had an altercation with Fenerbahçe midfielder Emre Belözoğlu on the field and during the half time break.
The Beşiktaş manager and Belözoğlu had a heated exchange of words and Emmanuel Emenike was booed by his own fans.
Emenike took off his shirt, abandoned the game and later returned to the pitch after cooling down.
Fenerbahçe ended up winning the derby 1-0 at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.
Beşiktaş will take on Başakşehir next in the Süper Lig in the mini Istanbul derby.
