Slaven Bilic – ‘Still too early to talk about winning the league’ [divider]
Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic believes it is way too early to start talking about winning the Süper Lig title.
“Beşiktaş are a club that always aim to win the league title,” Bilic said.
“We still have a long, rocky road ahead, it is way too early to get carried away.
“Some reporters and pundits may have us as favourites in the title race but our feet are firmly on the ground.
“We are in the midst of a very tight title race, our rivals are neck and neck with us.
“Every game is like a final, we have to prepare for every game as if it is the most important match of the year.
“The boys are fully focused and know what they have to do so I have faith in them.
“But I will not be talking about winning the league or anything like that, it is way too early, we are still at the start of the marathon.”
The Black Eagles have won six consecutive games and are currently first in the league on 32 points.
Beşiktaş face a tricky away test against Konyaspor next.
