Sneijder happy to have ended ‘disappointing’ Arsenal game with a goal [divider]

Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder revealed that he was happy to have ended the 4-1 loss against Arsenal with a goal.

Sneijder scored a brilliant free-kick effort but it only ended up being a consolation goal as Galatasaray suffered their second 4-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.

Sneijder Tweeted the following message after the game, “disappointing result for @GalatasaraySK but fortunately ended the game with a nice goal. Now focus on #Superlig.”

The Netherlands international has four goals and one assist in 19 appearances for Galatasaray this season.

Sneijder was wearing the captains armband following the suspension of first-choice captain Selçuk İnan.

Galatasaray finished Champions League Group D in last place on one point following the heavy defeat.

The Lions failed to qualify for the Last 16 for the first time in two seasons.
