Sneijder pursuit over, says Juventus manager Allegri

Juventus called off their pursuit of Galatasaray’s Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder according to the Serie A Champions manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The former AC Milan manager has confirmed his side will not sign Sneijder due to Galatasaray’s demands.

Galatasaray have demanded that any club who wants to sign Sneijder must pay the full €20 million euro release clause in his contract. Juventus were willing to pay a transfer fee in the region of €5 million.

“Galatasaray have been clear, they want to keep him,” Allegri told SkySports Italy.

The Netherlands international was at the top of the Juventus manger Massimiliano Allegri wish list. The former AC Milan manager was after a playmaker who had experience in Serie A and knowledge of the Italian language.

The 30-year-old joined Galatasaray from Inter in 2013 for €8 million and still has just under two-years left on his contract.

Sniejder has scored four goals in 22 appearances for Galatasaray this season including two against Fenerbahce in the intercontinental derby.
