Sneijder – ‘Robben is an amazing player’ [divider]
Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder revealed that he believes Netherlands national teammate Arjen Robben is an amazing player.
Sneijder and Robben starred together in the Netherlands 6-0 win against Latvia.
“It was a great match and a good result. Tonight we made a big step and now we have to continue like this,” Sneijder said.
“We were really eager to win this game. Earlier this week we lost against Mexico [3-2 in a friendly], and we didn’t do that well in the other qualifying matches as we only managed to beat Kazakhstan.
“So we needed the three points and we did it, and at the same time we played pretty well, with six beautiful goals.
“Arjen Robben is an amazing player. It is good to have these kinds of players in your team.”
Robben scored a brace in Netherlands convincing win in the Euro 2016 qualification Group A.
Sneijder has 28 goals in 110 appearances for the Netherlands.
The 30-year-old playmaker joined Galatasaray from Serie A side Inter for €8.4 million.
The Netherlands international lead Galatasaray to Turkish Cup glory last season and played an important role in Galatasaray reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.
