South Africa international May Mahlangu has been ruled out for a month with injury after breaking his ankle during training, Konyaspor revealed today.

The club released an official statement on their website confirming the injury.

The statement read: “Mahlangu had a collision with Djalma today in training and broke his ankle, he will be out for a month.”

Konyaspor reveal transfer targets

Mahlangu joined Konyaspor on a six-month deal in January after leaving IFK Goteborg last year.

The 25-year-old joined the ranks of John Moshoeu, Fani Madida, Steve Komphela and Pollen Ndlanya as the fifth South African to play in Turkey.

Mahlangu joined IFK Göteborg from Helsingborgs IF in March 2014. The South Africa international scored six goals in 25 Allsvenskan for IFK Göteborg last season.

Konyaspor are currently 12th in the Turkish Super League with 25 points after 23 games and take on Kasımpaşa this weekend.

Mahlangu has one goal in six appearances for Konyaspor this season.
