Mesut Ozil stepped up at yet another key moment in Arsenal’s season when he provided the assist for Danny Welbeck’s winner in the Gunner’s 2-1 win over Leicester City.

It was the 27-year-old’s 17th assist of the season who is just three off matching Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a Premier League season. The former Real Madrid playmaker has also created 106 chances for his side so far.

Ozil has been criticised for not making a difference in his sides ‘big’ games however, during this campaign Ozil has provided two assists against Leicester, two verses Manchester City, an assist against Tottenham.

The Germany international also scored a goal and assist at home to Manchester United.

Arsenal moved two points within leaders Leicester City following their victory over the Foxes on Sunday.

The Gunners take on Hull City in the FA Cup this weekend then host Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League next week.
