Stoke v Liverpool – Expected starting line-up’s: Emre Can set for midfield role

Liverpool get their Premier League season underway with a tricky trip to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium today.

Summer signings Benteke, Ings, Milner, Clyne and Firminio are all available to start.

However, striker Daniel Sturridge (hip), midfielder Joe Allen and defender Jon Flanagan (knee) are both out injured for the Reds.

Liverpool will be looking to get settle scores following their humiliating 6-1 defeat against Stoke in May. Emre Can had one of his worst games for the Reds that day but is expected to return as a central midfielder.

Liverpool do not have the best record at the Britannia. The Reds have one just two of their last seven away games against Stoke in all competitions.
