Sunderland target Hakan Çalhanoğlu on Juventus radar

The Serie A champions Juventus have set their sights on Hakan Çalhanoğlu according to Tuttosport (via Goal).

The report states that the Bianconeri see the Turkish international as an alternative to Arturo Vidal who left earlier this summer to join Bayern Munich.

Tuttosport go onto state that Çalhanoğlu will be available for €25 million.

The Turkish international has been closely linked with a move to Sunderland after an impressive season according to the Express.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a set-piece specialist over the past few seasons.

The Turkish international is regarded as being one of the best set-piece specialists around and has received rave reviews from Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola who said: “Çalhanoğlu is one of the best free-kick takers in the Bundesliga.”

Çalhanoğlu scored the highest number of free-kick goals – in the top five leagues in Europe – Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 – last season.

The 21-year-old joined Bayer on a €15 million transfer last season and has four-years left on his contract.
