Szymon Marciniak to officiate Liverpool v Besiktas clash

Thursdays Europa League tie between Liverpool and Besiktas will be officiated by the Polish referee Szymon Marciniak.

The the was confirmed on the Turkish Football Federations website this morning.

Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz will be the linesmen while Radoslaw Siejka will be the forth official on the night.

Marciniak shows an average of 3.71 yellow cards per game and 0.37 red cards per game.

The Polish referee who is known for his ability to keep calm in high pressure games has a tendency to point to the penalty spot. in 2011 Marciniak gave a total of 16 penalties in 35 European and International encounters.
