Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller praised Mesut Özil’s left foot in an interview with Arsenal’s official website shortly before the two sides met in the UEFA Champions League.
Özil went on to score with his left foot late on in the second half to secure all three points for the Gunners.
“Mesut is very lively, his left foot is outstanding and he’s always got a great eye for a pass to a team-mate,” Muller told Arsenal FC.
“His style of play fits perfectly to Arsenal’s game. That’s why he plays a good role there.”
Arsenal had gotten off to a slow start in the Champions League after suffering two defeats in their opening two games against Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb.
Yesterday evenings victory re-ignites the North London based sides qualification hopes as they move up into third place. Arsenal take on Bayern Munich in Germany in the next round of games.
The Gunners take on Everton this weekend in the Premier League.
