Tolgay Arslan 'still believes' Besiktas can win title

Beşiktaş midfielder Tolgay Arslan has revealed he still believes his side can win the league title despite a string of disappointing results.

The Black Eagles could have closed the gap with league leaders Galatasaray to just two points against Akhisar but dropped points for the second consecutive week.

Beşiktaş drew 1-1 against Akhisar on Thursday 14 May to fall four points behind league leaders Galatasaray.

“I still believe we can do it, yes it will be tough but as long as we play to our potential it is possible,” Arslan was quoted as saying by Eurosport TR.

Arslan also underlined that ultimately Beşiktaş have nobody to blame but themselves.

“We only played 45 minutes in both of our last two games, 45 minutes is not enough we need to play a full 90 at our best,” he added.

Arslan joined Beşiktaş from HSV in January for just €500,000 in January and has already established himself as a first team player.

The 24-year-old scored against Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32 clash against Liverpool.

The Germany born midfielder was also one of the star performers for Beşiktaş in the 2-0 win over Trabzonspor.
