Tottenham's €6 million bid for Mehmet Topal turned down

Fenerbahce have turned down Tottenham’s bid for Mehmet Topal according to Radikal.

The Turkish newspaper state that Tottenham offered €6 million for the Turkish international however, Fenerbahce manager Vitor Pereira wants to keep the former Valencia man in Istanbul.

Topal’s agent Batur Altıparmak also stated that Topal will remain with the Istanbul giants for the 2015-16 season.

“Mehmet is likely to be at Fenerbahçe next season,” Altıparmak told Turkish-football.com.

Topal is expected to be a regular stater for Fenerbahce in the 2015-16 season alongside new signing Josef de Souza.

The defensive midfielder nicknamed ‘spiderman’ has just a year remaining on his contract with the Yellow Canaries and has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder provided four assists and four goals in 41 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions last season.

Fenerbahçe have already parted ways with six players this season including long term servants Emre Belözoğlu and Selçuk Şahin.

The Yellow Canaries have also completed eight transfers including Manchester United stars Robin van Persie and Luis Nani.
