Trabzonspor 2-1 Galatasaray: Lions fall victim to the storm

Galatasaray suffered a blow to their title challenge after losing 2-1 against Trabzonspor at the Avni Aker stadium.

Özer Hurmacı opened the scoring on 20 minutes giving Trabzonspor the lead going into the first half.

Galatasaray equalised on 67 minutes when Emre Çolak hit the back of the net. The Turkish international caused Trabzonspor trouble with his long shots and hit the crossbar earlier on in the game.

Trabzonspor had the last laugh, Carl Medjani scored the winner on 86 minutes to record the Black Sea Storms second consecutive win over the Lions.

The game grew increasingly heated towards the end of the 90 minutes culminating in a brawl between Trabzonspor and Galatasaray players.

A total of 15 yellow cards were shown in the game and Hurmacı ended up being sent off.

Beşiktaş moved into first place in the league following their 5-1 win over Kasımpaşa. Fenerbahçe have the opportunity to overtake both Beşiktaş and Galatasaray with a win against Bursaspor on Monday.
