Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he will leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season according to HITC.
”Ideally I want to go to a top league. If that does not come, I’m looking at other things. I want to play a few years abroad,” he added.
Trabzonspor have been closely linked with the Netherlands international.
The Black Sea Storm could sign Van der Vaart on a free transfer in June as his contract with HSV is set to run out.
The 32-year-old has a lot of experience playing top level European football having played for Ajax, Hamburg, Real Madrid and Tottenham.
Van der Vaart returned to HSV for a second time in 2012 from Premier League outfit Tottenham.
The German side are currently in danger of getting relegated and sit third bottom of the Bundesliga table.
Van der Vaart has also been closely linked with Celtic and a move to the MLS.
