Ersun Yanal revealed that he was delighted with Trabzonspor covering 116km during their 4-1 win against Gençlerbirliği.
Trabzonspor were averaging 105km during the Vahid Halilhodzic era. The Black Sea Storm had averaged the lowest tackles and interceptions per game in the league.
Also Trabzonspor only had a 77 percent pass accuracy.
Yanal made it clear that he expected more from his team, “We must increase the distance we cover to 115-120km per game, increase our movement and make less errors.”
Trabzonspor covered a distance of 110.8 km in the 3-0 win against Galatasaray last week and increased to 116 km against Gençlerbirliği.
“We have a lot of hard workers in this team,” Yanal said.
“There are a lot of runners, fast players and hard workers, this team will entertain and excite football lovers this season.
“But it is no point having a good game once in a while, we must be consistent, we must consistently perform at the highest level.
“We have closed the gap with the leaders but still have a lot of work to do.
“Mentally we are in the right place now, the players believe what I have told them all along and we will go from strength to strength.”
