Trabzonspor round up: The spending spree continues

Trabzonspor’s transfer spending spree continued in the Winter transfer window with the Black Sea based club bringing in six new players to the team. The Black Sea Storm signed 22 names in the Summer as the look to build a squad which can challenge for the title.
The in-form centre back Ugur Demirok was signed from Akhisar while Erkan Zengin was signed from Eskisehirspor following a transfer battle with their rivals Fenerbahce. Hakan Arikan was loaned in from Kayserispor to cover for the injured Onur Kivrak.
Aytac Kara joined Ersun Yanal’s side on the last night of the window. Murat Kan and Abdullah Turan also joined the Black Sea based side in January. Trabzonspor offloaded seven names with Kadir Keles, Zeki Ayvaz, Serdar Gurler, Abdullah Turan, Avraam Papadopoulos, Emre Gural and Mustafa Yumlu all leaving last month.
Trabzonspor are currently sixth in the Super Lig with 29 points from 18 games and play Fenerbahce on the weekend.
