Trabzonspor step up efforts to sign Mert Günok [divider]
Trabzonspor are expected to make a January bid for Fenerbahçe keeper Mert Günok.
The Black Sea Storm are without first-choice keeper Onur Kıvrak until the end of the season and manager Ersun Yanal has urged the board to bring in a replacement.
Günok recently admitted that he has not given the prospect of a transfer any thought.
“I have a contract until the end of the season,” Günok said.
“It is normal for clubs to be interested but I am currently thinking about Fenerbahçe winning the league title for a record 20th time.
“I want us to win the fourth star.
“This is going to be a very tough season but a very entertaining one for the neutrals.”
Günok is currently second choice keeper at Fenerbahçe behind Turkish international Volkan Demirel.
The Turkish international keeper has made a total of 37 appearances for Fenerbahçe in his career.
