Liverpool have agreed a £3m deal to sign Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa from Malaga in January.
Trabzonspor were also linked with the Mexican international and were reportedly close to completing the transfer.
The Black Sea Storm have been on the hunt for a new goalkeeper following Onur Kivrak’s knee injury which will keep him out for the remainder of the season.
However, manager Ersun Yanal turned down the opportunity to sign Ochoa due to the foreign player restrictions in the Turkish Super Lig.
The 52-year old manager has decided to stick with Fatih Ozturk in goal.
27-year-old Fatih Ozturk has made 14 appearances for Trabzonspor this season.
Ochoa moved to Malaga following a string of impressive performances in the World Cup however, has just made one appearance for the La Liga side.
