Turkish businessman takes over Crawley Town FC

Turkish businessman Ziya Eren has completed the takeover of Crawley Town FC.

The English fourth division side confirmed that the take over is set to formally go ahead over the next 24 hours on their official website.

Crawley stated that there has been an exchange of contracts but that the Football League will still have to approve the takeover ‘relating to the Owners and Directors test and the completion of all legal agreements’.

Eren is also the president of Turkish PTT.1 Lig side Kayseri Erciyesspor and has revealed that he aims to make Crawley and the Kayseri based side sister clubs.

The official Crawley Town twitter account has already had a surge of Turkish followers which is expected to continue as news of the takeover becomes spreads.

Crawley Town shared a tweet in both English and Turkish to thank Turkish followers for their substantial growth on the social media channel over the last few days.
