Besiktas make move for Sunderland winger who contributed to 6 goals last season

Turkish champions Besiktas have made a move for Sunderland winger Jeremain Lens according to NTV Spor.

NTV Spor pundit Guntekin Onay confirmed that the Black Eagles are keen on bringing the Dutch star to Istanbul over the summer.

Besiktas would be able to offer Champions League football after winning the league title last season.

Lens joined Sunderland last summer on an £8 million move from Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev but struggled to settle in contributing to just six goals all season – three goals and three assists.

The Black Cats are however, now coached by David Moyes who did include Lens in his pre-season France tour.

Lens put on an impressive display recently against Borussia Dortmund providing Lamine Kone with an assist in the 1-1 draw.

The 28-year-old Netherlands international does have another three-years remaining on his current contract.

Besiktas are in pursuit of a winger to replace Gokhan Tore who join joined West Ham on a temporary loan.
