Turkish giants target dropped from Leicester side that lost to Man Utd

Premier League champions Leicester City lost the Charity Shield following a 2-1 defeat against FA Cup winners Manchester United at Wembley today.

Summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the winning goal on 83 minutes towering above the Leicester defence to head the ball into the back of the net.

There were a number of players left out of both sides including Besiktas target Gokhan Inler was not in the Leicester City squad.

The Haberturk newspaper recently claimed that the Black Eagles had reached an agreement-in-principle with the Switzerland international.

Inler joined the Foxes last season and despite being part of the Premier League winning squad he failed to lock down a regular place in the team.

The Switzerland international of Turkish origin made just 10 appearances for Leicester but he does have a wealth of experience playing top-level football including four seasons at Napoli and four at Udinese.

The experienced midfielder did actually go for trials at Besiktas in 2004-05 and is reported to be a fan of the Istanbul giants.
