Galatasaray are preparing an offer for the Southampton playmaker Jordy Clasie as they look to strengthen in midfield.

The Turkish outlet Fotospor state that the Lions have turned their attention towards the Netherlands international after failing to land Lucas Leiva from Liverpool. Lucas had agreed to make the move to Istanbul however, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp put a stop to the move following a string of injuries in the Reds defence.

Per-the-source, Galatasaray are set to table a £3 million offer for Clasie. However, Southampton are understood to be holding out for £7 million after signing the Netherlands international from Feyenoord last summer.

Fotospor go onto say that Wesley Sneijder’s agent Guido Albers is being used in negotiations to sign the midfield playmaker.

The 25-year-old provided one assist in 25 appearances in all competitions for Southampton last season. The Saints take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend while Galatasaray host Karabukspor in their opening game of the 2016-17 season.
