Makinwa recently stated that Istanbul giants Besiktas had already expressed an interested in the 23-year-old midfielder.

“Onazi has years of Serie A experience and is just 23 years old so interest from clubs is normal. What I can say is that Besiktas are one of the sides interested,” he added.

There has also been Premier League interest however, Makinwa did not drop any names regarding which other clubs are interested in the midfielder.

“There are many clubs interested in the Onazi including from England,” he said.

The 2013 African Cup of Nations winner has been linked with a move to Sunderland and West Ham according to Talksport.

Per the source, Everton, Southampton, Swansea and Greek giants Panathinaikos are also in the race for Onazi.

Lazio currently value Onazi as being worth £7 million and he does have another two-years remaining on his contract.

Besiktas and Trabzonspor will both try to negotiate a lower transfer fee for Onazi if they are to complete the move over the summer.
