Turkish international ruled out of Chelsea game but nearing West Ham return

West Ham will be hoping to extend their winning run to three games when they take on Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday 26 October at the Olympic stadium.

The Hammers have pulled together a decent run of form recently after a dreadful start to the season but head coach Slaven Bilic still has an injury crisis on his hands.

Andre Ayew has returned to training but is lacking match fitness. Aaron Cresswell is suspended while Diafra Sakho is training with the reserves to gain match fitness after a lengthy time out.

Bilic will also be without Andy Carroll, Gokhan Tore, Sam Byram and Darren Randolph due to injury.

Tore is however, nearing a return from injury. A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.com that rehabilitation has been going well and he has been going into the club training grounds for one-on-one sessions.

The Turkish international winger is expected to make a full return in November after spending the last few weeks sidelined.

West Ham take on a Chelsea side that have won their last three games in all competitions – keeping a clean sheet in all three as well including a 4-0 victory over Manchester United.

The Blues are also unbeaten in their last six games against West Ham in the London derby.
