Valencia willing to offer €20m for star midfielder eyed by Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho

Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Besiktas playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup.

La Liga outfit Valencia are willing to pay €20 million for Besiktas star midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup according to Fotospor.

Per the source, Los Che have been scouting Ozyakup for the past season and are prepared to match the Istanbul giants valuation.

Valencia have already signed one Super Lig player this season in Luis Nani from Fenerbahce, releasing his €8.5 million release clause.

Besiktas will however, be willing to put up a fight to keep Ozyakup at the club this season as he has no release clause option and club president Fikret Orman only yesterday revealed that he will be staying for at least another 12 months.

Speaking at Adriano’s signing ceremony Besiktas president Fikret Orman revealed that he wants Ozyakup to stay at the club for another 12 months.

“Ozyakup was come a long way in four years, he is our stay player and will stay this season and experience Champions League football as a star player,” he said.

“It has been a great pleasure to see him develop and he will be here this season but once his mission at Besiktas is complete he can decide his future.

“I would love him to stay here until he retires but we will discuss his future next season.”

Valencia are in for stiff competition as the Daily Star report Manchester United are prepared to offer £20 million for the midfielder after keeping tabs on Ozyakup over the past 12 months.

Jose Mourinho is reported to be keen on the move and Orman has revealed in the past that he would want Ozyakup to join a club like United when he does leave Besiktas.

“When Ozyakup leaves Besiktas it will be for Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid. A club of that calibre,” Orman was quoted as saying by Turkish-football.com.

La Gazzetta dello Sport meanwhile report that Arsenal are favourites to sign their former academy player.
