(Video) Mesut Ozil provides assist & scores for 4th time following Arsenal win over Man Utd

Arsenal team news

Arsenal crushed Manchester United 3-0 at the Emirates in the most highly anticipated game of the week.

The Gunners had been out-of-form going into the game having lost 3-2 against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League midweek.

Mesut Özil in particular was slammed after the match and heavily criticised in section of the press.

Former United midfielder Johnny Giles went as far to claim that Arsenal will not be able to succeed and win trophies with the World Cup winner in the side.

“He was totally dishonest in the way he played. Instead of making a genuine effort to win the ball back, he was giving silly free-kicks away. That’s always the sign of a player who doesn’t want to make a real effort,” he added.

“He hasn’t done anything for Arsenal at all. Arsenal won’t do anything if he’s in the team.”

Özil responded to his critics by settling up Alexis Sanchez with the opening goal on 6 minutes and then scoring himself just a minute later.

The World Cup winner has now provided and scored in the same game for the fourth time in his Arsenal career.

Özil has a grand total of one goals and three assists for his club this season and has created the highest number of chances in the league (31).
