Watford FC sign former Galatasaray winger Amrabat

Watford FC have signed the Morocco international Nordin Amrabat just six months after making his loan move at Malaga permanent.

“He has the qualities of the players we like,” Hornets manager Quique Sanchez Flores said.

“He can play at number 10; he holds the ball, he can turn quickly with the strength of a striker and escape the defensive line.”

Amrabat will join up with the Watford squad today and will be available for Saturday’s clash with Newcastle United at Vicarage Road.

The Morocco international joined Malaga from Galatasaray after spending a season on-loan at the La Liga side.

Malaga signed the flamboyant winger for £2.5 million and sold him onto Swansea for £5.6 million six months later.

Born in the Netherlands, he was capped at under-21 level before playing 23 times for Morocco.

Galatasaray signed the Moroccan international from Kayserispor for €8 million in 2012. The 28-year-old has one assist in 14 appearances for the La Liga side this season.
