West Ham boost as star player returns ahead Chelsea derby, where he spent two years

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic faced a headache in the injury department going into the London derby against Chelsea on Monday 16 August.

The Hammers manager will however, now be able to welcome back Cheikhou Kouyate, Pedro Obiang and Darren Randolph who did not feature in the friendly against Juventus in the recent pre-season friendly.

Bilic will also have recent signings Andre Ayew and Arthur Masuaku available.

Turkish international winger Gokhan Tore has returned to team training after recovering from a knee injury.

Tore missed the Europa League qualifier against Domzale as a result of the injury but is expected to be included in the match-day squad against the Blues.

The 24-year-old joined the Hammers on a one-year loan for a £2.5 million fee and has a £10 million buyout clause option.

The explosive winger was a top transfer priority for Bilic who worked with Tore over a two-season span at his former club Besiktas where he developed him into one of the brightest prospects in the league .

Tore would be set for a memorable debut if he were to feature against Chelsea as Stamford Bridge is where it all began for him when he joined the Blues academy aged 17.

After spending two years rising through the ranks he moved to HSV followed by Rubin Kazan and Turkish giants Besiktas only to return to the Premier League five years later.
