West Ham join the race for Besiktas target Esteban Cambiasso

West Ham United have joined the race to sign Esteban Cambiasso after the midfielder decided to leave Leicester City.

Cambiasso confirmed that he will leave Leicester according to the BBC. The former Argentinian international released a statement saying that he will not renew his current deal with the Foxes.

The statement read: “I have decided not to renew my contract with Leicester City.

The Black Eagles are on the look-out for a new central-midfielder following the injury to Tolgay Arslan.

Arslan has been ruled out for at least six months after teaching a knee ligament during pre-season training.

The 34-year-old joined Leicester City on a free transfer from Inter Milan last summer. Cambiasso has previously played for Real Madrid, Ricer plate and Independiente.

Cambiasso scored one goal and provided five assists in 33 appearances for Leicester last season.
