West Ham manager confirms Nigerian international striker is on transfer list

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike is also on his transfer list along with Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz.

Bilic told Hürriyet reporter İzzet Çapa: “There is a striker problem right now at West Ham and if the board agree to sign a forward Burak Yilmaz and Emmanuel Emenike are both on my transfer list.”

The Hammers boss recently revealed that he is fond of Emenike but also underlined that he is not sure if Fenerbahce would be willing to release the Nigerian international.

“There is no agreement with Emenike he is an important player but Fenerbahçe may need an extra striker and I am uncertain if they will release him,” Bilic told Fanatik.

SkySports claimed that the Premier League outfit have made a loan offer to sign the powerful striker until the end of the season with a future buyout clause.

Emenike failed to settle in last season netting just five times goals over the course of the league campaign and fell out with the fans.

Fenerbahce were however, under the stewardship of Ismail Kartal who has since been replaced by Vitor Pereira.

The Portuguese manager has yet to release a statement regarding whether he wants to keep Emenike at the club however, he has complained about a lack of options up front with Robin van Persie and Fernandao the only out and out strikers currently at the club.

The Nigerian international spent the first half of the season on loan at Al Ain scoring seven times in 11 appearances but has returned to Turkey following the opening of the winter transfer window.
