West Ham are preparing a seizable bid for Liverpool’s out-of-favour strike Christian Benteke as a replacement for the out-bound Emmanuel Emenike.

The Mirror newspaper states that the Hammers are looking to upgrade their attacking options over the summer as they look to push on from an impressive season.

With loan forward Emmanuel Emenike heading back to Fenerbahce this summer, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is on the lookout for a consistent goalscorer.

The Hammers do have a €10 million release clause option to sign Emenike until the end of the season which feels short of the €30 million bid the club will be making.

Emenike has struggled at the Premier League outfit scoring just twice since arriving from Fenerbahce on-loan in January but has yet to score in the league.

Fenerbahce are willing to part ways with Emenike after he fell out with fans and the board last season but it remains in the hands of the Hammers.
