West Ham summer signing set to make debut against his former club Chelsea

West Ham summer signing Gokhan Tore is set to make his debut against London rivals Chelsea in the first round of Premier League games to kick off the 2016-17 season.

The East London based outfit take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday 15 August.

The Turkish international winger has yet to make an official appearance for the Hammers since joining on loan from Besiktas.

Tore joined for a £2.5 million loan fee and the Hammers have a £10 million buyout clause option that remains active until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old missed the Hammers Europa League qualifier against Domzale due to an injury but has since recovered and returned to training.

If Tore does get to make his debut against Chelsea it would hold special significance for the explosive winger as his career began at the Blues.

After spells in Germany as a youngster with SV Adler Dellbrück and Bayer Leverkusen, Tore joined Premier League side Chelsea when he was 17.

Tore made his Blues debut in a friendly against Crystal Palace in July 2010 and after a spell in Germany – HSV – and Russia – Rubin Kazan – between 2012 to 2014 he joined Besiktas.

Under the stewardship of Slaven Bilic he went onto become one of the most highly rated players in Turkey and played an important role in winning the 2016 league title.
