Özil played the full 90 minutes in the Gunners disappointing home defeat.

The Germany international provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.

The 26-year-old played a staring role during Arsenal’s pre-season and has been tipped as a candidate for player of the year by manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back next weekend when they have a tough away trip to Crystal Palace.

Reece Oxford has made four appearances for West Ham this season and has 17 caps for England U17’s.
